BookBuddy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those providers. We do not receive or store your password.
Reading data: We store the books you log, quiz results, ratings, notes, and badges earned. This data is tied to your account and stored securely in Firebase Firestore.
We use your information solely to provide and improve the BookBuddy experience — to save your reading log and generate quiz questions. We do not sell your data.
BookBuddy uses the following third-party services:
Firebase (Google): Authentication and cloud data storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
Groq: AI question generation. Book titles and authors are sent to generate comprehension questions. No personal information is included. Groq Privacy Policy
Google Books API & Wikipedia API: Used to look up public book information. No personal data is sent.
BookBuddy is designed for use by children with parental guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. The app is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. If you believe your child has provided us personal information without consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your data is stored in Google Firebase, which uses industry-standard security. We do not store passwords. Sign-in is handled entirely by Google or Apple.
You can delete individual books and quiz results within the app at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, open the account menu in the app and tap "Delete Account" — this immediately and permanently removes your account and all data associated with it. You may also contact us at the email below and we will remove it within 7 days.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
